Texans for Health Access strives to protect insured Texans from ever-shifting health insurance barriers and loopholes that interfere with their ability to access appropriate treatment and care from their healthcare providers. The Issues
Our coalition of patients, caregivers, patient advocacy groups and healthcare provider organizations has worked to reform common strategies utilized by health plans and pharmacy benefit managers that make it difficult for patients to access appropriate care and treatments they are prescribed, including: step therapy requirements, prior authorization mandates, copay accumulator adjustment programs, and switching of medications for non-medical reasons.
